Human Tissue Inc.
In this project I participated in the interfaculty project Human Tissue Inc. The project was based on the principle of human skin tissue. The students of the departments Biomedical Engineering, Mathematics, Technology Management and Construction Engineering each had to give their own share, related to their different backgrounds.
In the start phase, the student work together by doing literature reviews on human skin tissue and shared their knowledge. I deepened in the structural properties and fiber structures of human skin.
In the literature review, I studied the microscopical, structural properties of human skin. By study models, I was able to make a translation of the fiber structures in human skin to a construction design and this resulted in a manipulable deformable facade element.
The project ended with the completion of a structural research of the repeating geometry in the design of the facade element. The design is verified and completed in the graduation project. Also a research to the mechanism of the 2D cross section of the facade element and a design with the use of the facade element was made in the graduation project.
