Structural Analyses

After the design for the product, the hypothesis of the design was tested. The assumption was that the facade element is capable of 3D manipulable deformations. This would mean that it might be possible that a facade, made of this design, can change its shape into several different shapes with only the use of a remote control.

Analyses.
The structure was analyses in only one direction and dissolved to its smallest part by symmetrical force behavior. The properties of the whole structure can be found in this smallest part. The structure was analysed for deformations and seemed to be very sensitive for geometrically non-linearity. The analyses were therefor calculated in n-th order. Because the structure is kinematically undetermined, it could only be determined by n-th order, non linear calculations. By a coincidental found calculation trick, it was possible to calculate 1st order equilibrium in some situations by hand. By these calculations, a proof was given for 2nd and n-th order calculations.
