Le Passage Circulair
Today, the saunters of Paris can still be seen in the district of the Champs Elysées for the Haut Couture and all the fashionable and expensive designs of clothing and other things. The metropolist still exists and adapted by time.
My design is based on the sauntering of the people of Paris. Right in the middle of the Place Charles de Gaulle, I will place a circle shaped passage which connect all the directions of Haussman's design and makes the streets to communicate with each other. The Arc de Triomphe wasn't built in the time of Benjamin, so I can assume that it doesn't exist. A big, constantly rotating, cube shaped mirror will be placed right in middle of the circle. The spaces around the circle constantly communicate with each other and in the directions of the boulevards; there is an empty space to make contact with the boulevards and another order of daily life in Paris. Everybody is now able to saunter in this circular shaped design, while every user will have the feeling of being in a long corridor shaped space like the passages. In the materialized spaced, the stores of the Champs Elysées can expand their activities, so the users will complete the concept themselves.
