Relax and Meet
Planning and Placement

• May 4th: Official opening Relax&Meet.
Placement and location on campus TU/e
The element which was produced after the winning of the design contest, was given and presented to the university TU/e. The university accepted this gift and commanded the placement on campus.
The location was picked by the designer. The location is the grass field next to the Architecture building Vertigo, Cafe De Zwarte Doos and the pedestrian road Het Limbopad. This location has many trees and this contributes to Relax&Meet's shape.
The composition of the chair and the view lines from different locations were considered. From the main entrance of the campus Relax&meet can be seen from long distance and works like a landmark and gateway to the campus. Visitors will see Relax&Meet from the side and in this position they will see the curved shape where the element shows its dynamics and curved shape best.
When the visitors leave, when they are more relaxed, they will be confronted with the commemorative stone and can read about Relax&Meet. The stone is placed in the view lines of the pedestrian walk. They can read while watching the element from a side view.
